A Prayer of Salvation
Dear Father God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.
I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.
You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.
Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.
Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Jesus that your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself.
Help me remain faithful to You all the days of my life in order that I may receive a crown of righteousness and dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
In Jesus’ precious name,
Amen.
Thanks Jim, This is the whole reason we are here! To bring people into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ!

I found a really awesome article I wanted to share with everyone regarding the question of God’s existence. It is entitled “Is There A God?” by Marilyn Adamson. A nice thing about this article is it can be listened to or you can read it.
Just go to this link: http://everystudent.com/features/isthere.html
God Bless
Please pray for my niece, Sara. Tonight, the doctors at The Children’s Hospital in Boston are running test to determine the extent of a neurologic disorder that is causing her to twitch and suffer shooting pains. Please pray for her and her Mother. Thanks and God Bless.
Good news! Another answered prayer. The doctor’s have determined that she was just experiencing side-effects from a medication. God is good!
Please pray for Jennifer Chipley and Caleb Ross. Pray that God will fill Caleb’s heart with love for Jennifer.
Pray that God will place Jennifer and Caleb at the same place at the same time so they can see one another
and talk. Pray that God will shut the door and close out any women that Caleb may be involved with and open the
door again with Jennifer and Caleb. Pray that God will draw Jennifer and Caleb together with each passing day. Pray
that God will restore and open all doors that are currently closed with Jennifer and Caleb.
Please pray for the His Loving Arms Ministry, we are in need of more witnesses for this ministry. For Cry of the people has gone up to God. It is very needed for those who are sick and dying. We are to bring Jesus to them. The Lord hears them and wants to heal them and restore them to Himself. There is alot of hurting people in this world. Pray for the Missions.
Pray for good weather(clear roads) and safe travel for the teens going to Joshua Revolution at the end of the month…also pray that our hearts are fertile soil that will receive the word and bare much fruit for his kingdom. thanks
Please pray for people of this world who are struggling with real poverty each and every day. Ask God to show the people of this country how fortunate we are, and to show us compassion for those who struggle just to survive. That except for His grace, we could well be in the same situation. Ask Him to open our eyes and touch our hearts. Ask Him to show us that our generosity with both donations and our efforts may help those in need, not just in this season of giving, but at all times. Ask Him to show us all that He has a special regard for the poor. That He always hears their prayers, and that He is their friend when others pass them by. Ask Him to be their comfort, their hope for the future, the one constant presence they can count on when we fail them.
I ask that we pray for the christian youth groups and their youth pastors and leaders. Pray for them because every generation is important to us all.

We need to encourage them to “Dare To Be Different.” I’d like to share an exerpt from this article I found in “Our Daily Bread” by Joe Stowell: Let’s face it, being an example is often about being different. But most of us don’t want to be different. We want people to like us, and the safest way to do this is to blend in. But following Christ is not about blending in. Following Him means to be like Him, to respond to life and relate to people as He did. It’s a little risky and uncomfortable to be different. But that’s what being an “Ambassador for Christ” (2 Cor. 5:20) is all about – bringing the wonderful difference of your King to bear on the territory you’ve been assigned: your home, your [school], your friendships. Representing the King is not just our calling; it’s a great honor.
Make a difference by daring to be different!
–Joe Stowell

So, let us pray for the youth of this nation. Pray that they not only hear the word of God, but that they also find the courage to use His word in their life to set an example of His grace.
“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
~1 Timothy 4:12
I feel God calling me into the ministry of praise and worship. Please pray for me to have the courage to walk through the doors He is opening and is going to open. I also have applied for a job in ministry . Thank-you
Lord, I pray that you continue to show me my place in Your kingdom, so that I might better serve you. Help me to comprehend everything that Your word has for me and to filter out that which will lead me away from you. I know that I can be stubborn, and I ask that I can easily hear you when you call. Lord, I pray that the doors you open before me will be easily seen and that I’m able to choose those which you have opened for me. May I always do your will and glorify your name.
Please pray for our evangelistic website http://www.WashedRed.com to glorify God. Please pray that many people who visit the site will become followers of Jesus Christ and will live faithfully for Him. Please pray for our wisdom, protection, boldness, discernment, and anything else you feel led to pray! Thank you so much!
Just a reminder to pray for my wife Romona. She’s having surgery to re-repair a hernia. Also please pray for my Mother who has a chronic lung infection.
Dear friends in Christ
Please pray for me as I am going through a deep financial crisis. I have put myself unknowingly into some major legal issues with regard to my house. But I also know that the Lord is there with me today and He will take care of this situation. Please join me in asking the lord to pull me out of this mess.
I will raise my voice in Praise and Thanksgiving to my God.
Many thanks
Olive
Please pray for my aunt in North Carolina. She broke her shoulder, arm, hip & leg. She was recovering from surgery to her spine when this happened. She is 82 years old, and a retired missionary to the Philippines and pastor’s wife. My uncle has Parkinson’s, and he is taking all of this very hard – she was taking care of him until 3 weeks ago. Now they have been moved to a nursing facility from assisted living, staying in different rooms, and this is very hard on them. Thanks for your prayers!
Please pray for Bill, a friend from Danville. He may have had a seizure last week, and was taken to the hospital in the ambulance. He needs a touch from the Lord. He takes meds for epilepsy, and needs to be able to work and drive, to maintain independence.. The Lord WILL make a way for him!
Cyclone Kills More Than 350 in Myanmar
Please pray for the people of Myanmar, Yangon. I recently met someone from this region via the internet and have not heard of their fate. Please pray for their safety and their salvation. 100,000 have been left homeless, and we need prayer for a outpouring of aid to this area. Lord we trust that your will be done even in these times of great personal tragedy. Please comfort them so they may comfort others in your mighty name.
I just received an email from my niece Sharlene Stebbins in Kentucky. The doctors told her that she definitely DOES have Crohn’s Disease, and NOT Ulcerative Colitis, which could have been corrected by surgery. The doctors are looking at her needing to take the meds for the rest of her life, and at this point it means IV treatment every 4 weeks (she is only 33 years old, and this condition reared it’s ugly head 11 years ago, while she was doing finals in college).
On a positive note, Sharlene said she is hopeful that they will come up with a cure for Crohn’s. Just 9 years ago, they came up with the IV therapy, and before that Crohn’s patients had to take steroids every day of their lives to stop the bleeding. Also, three or so years ago, they found a hereditary gene, so they are making strides toward a cure. Still, I am believing the Lord for HIS perfect healing, which requires no meds, only FAITH in the GREAT PHYSICIAN. Thank you for your prayers for my dear, sweet niece, Sharlene!
Please pray for my friend Bill’s “adopted” mom – his mom just passed away a couple of years ago. He has known this lady most of his life, and he is good friends with her son, Dave. Dave’s mom fell on Sunday, May 18th, and they had to take her to the hospital in the ambulance – they admitted her into the special care unit, she is in her late 70s. Bill emailed me that they told her son she only has 4 to 6 to 8 months to live. I am not sure why they say she has such a short time to live, but i just had to share this prayer request with all of you….
My brother Mark survived six applications of chemotherapy since being diagnosed with leukemia 7/07. In fact, they got all of the cancer with the first chemo the beginning of August. Now it has been four months since the last chemo, and my mother told me the doctors were concerned about his last white cell count a couple of weeks ago. I trust God to keep Him cancer-free. Jesus IS the GREAT PHYSICIAN. On a VERY positive note, my brother is spending more time in church than he has since we were children – the last time he attended WEEKLY or more was at age 16. SEE what God is doing? He is drawing Mark closer and closer to Himself through ALL of this. PRAISE GOD! Romans 8:28 is true. Mark has ALWAYS believed, but for years wasn’t quite where God wanted Him to be – He has used this hard thing to remind Mark where his strength comes from….
Lord, send us to the hurting people in our towns. Give us the Words to share your love with them. Bring to our remembrance Your Word, because You said that it would NOT return void, that it WOULD accomplish what it was sent out to do. Thank you for the POWER of Your Word. Thank you for making the way to find faith in You SO simple – Faith comes by HEARING your Word, not simply listening to it or reading it. Thank you for the comfort of Your Promises to us. You are the only One we can turn to in every situation.
I love you, Lord….
DEAR, DEAR Friends,
I just had to share these emails with you, from my niece Sharlene in Kentucky. PLEASE continue to pray for her. Jesus in the Great Physician. Also, for my brother Mark, in New Jersey, as he continues to recuperate from Leukemia, all of the doses of chemotherapy, and the reactivation of his immune system. In all of this, PLEASE PLEASE pray for my 83 year old mom, Marion. She is a wonderful Christian mother, I ADORE her, and this is all very hard on her constitution (the Lord IS with her, AMEN!).
THANKS SO MUCH! and God bless!
Love in Jesus,
Kathi (smile)
Aunt Kathi,
Thank you so much for your prayers! Yes, the Lord can heal anything…I pray that he heals my Crohn’s. Wouldn’t that be something? To go and have a CT scan done on June 2nd and for the doctors to say “I don’t see any evidence of Crohn’s or anything!” (Especially since I’m not taking any medicine for Crohn’s right now…since they deplete the immune system and they don’t want that while my body is still healing.)
Love,
Sharlene
Sharlene,
I just wanted to quickly let you know that we are praying for you in my church. I KNOW the Lord can heal your Crohn’s, after all Jesus is the Great Physician. I am believing the Lord to do something great for you, honey. His Word says to ask that our joy may be full….
Love,
Aunt Kathi
Hello everyone!
It’s been a little while since my last update. There really hasn’t been much to share until now. I’ve had two doctor visits this week and this is what I’ve found out:
1) I really do have Crohn’s….it’s not Ulcerative Colitis. So, that means that surgery won’t fix things and I’ll be on medicine again (probably for the rest of my life….maybe there will be a cure?)
So, I’m getting better!!!
2) The medicine that the doctor talked about for me to try is administered via IV every 4 weeks. (Obviously I wouldn’t start this until I’m completely healed from the surgery.) Minor note is that in a few cases the meds have caused some sort of brain virus to activate in people and it has killed them. That sounds good, huh? Good thing I only have a brain cell…lol…some know what I’m talking about here.
3) The wound actually looks like it is healing up. I could see a visible change from last week to this week. Measurements confirmed that it is healing.
4) Hemoglobin as of last week was 9. Yay!!! I can feel my toes just fine now…hopefully it is even higher now. I’m starting to get a little pink in my cheeks as well…yay!
5) White blood cell count was 11.4 as of last week. Normal is anything below 11. Hopefully it is below the 11 line now.
6) Fevers in the 100 range have stopped. Yay! Every now and then I have one in the 99 range, but mostly my temp seems to be normal now.
7) My next CT scan should be in about 3 weeks…and about that time the doctor will determine if he can take out the “pic” line so I won’t have to give myself IV antibiotics anymore and I can just take pills.
I’m cooking some meals now. I was excited to clean the toilet the other day (you know you’re bored when you’re happy to do that!) I’ve made some trips to the grocery to do some shopping….and to work to pop in (and remind myself how slow my computer is at work!) I’ve done some crocheting and have watched way too much tv. I think when I’m finally better no one will find me sitting on my couch, much less at home.
Well, I guess that’s about all for now. I’ll let you all know when there is more news. Thank you for your continued prayers!!!
Sharlene
This is an important “P.S.” My sister, Kristie, is presently in Israel. This is part of her studies at the A/G seminary in Springfield, MO. She just graduated last spring from Evangel College with a degree in Communications, and it seems the Lord is leading her to become a televangelist. The main reason that Kristie is in Israel is to take classes at a university there, in conjunction with her studies at AGS.
Here are emails from Kristie, written to us from Israel, that my other sister, Dorothea, forwarded to me (she works at AGS).
PLEASE pray that the Lord will protect her, as she studies in this volatile and most important part of the world. Thanks again!
Kathi
just back in jerusalam from 3 days in the great wilderness… climbed the path of moses and the children of israel…traveled through the 4 faces of juda, the shef, the hill country east and west gev, the wilderness and the great wilderness…average 7-11miles of hiking a day… words can not express.just finished a test and i have to write a paper, mark more maps and be up at 5:am to go to the sea of gal for 3 day of touring about 15 sitesalong the north west area up for the sea of gal and writing every day. how is everyone no one has said anything…l/u ps: please forwrd to all thanks!
i have so little time that my e-mails are short. is everyone ok? went so many great places… average 8 miles per day walking…walked through the wilderness of jericho…the old jericho city…gerzer…central ben plateau and many more. love you! PS forward to all…thanks
went to the temple mount today in the old city which is where we are staying. saw the corner stone and the walls where jesus said every stone you see will be torn down…the pool of Bethesda and the temple where mary’s family worshiped…8 miles of walking and now we are in class.
just finished 8 mile walk through the old city of david and the under ground water tunnel that the king hez built …lunch and and afternoon of class. this is the most increadable place in the world and for some reason it feels like home! we walked where jesus walked and yester day was saw golatha, the the place where jesus was layed in the tomb
I recently went to look at a used couch and chair. The people own a beautiful campground. I would love to do a Christian concert there. I used to travel in this type of ministry to campgrounds, youth groups, churches, Christian coffeehouses, banquets, etc. It would be a great opportunity to encourage believers and to touch the hearts of unsaved people camping there. Please pray that the Lord would open the door to me, if it is His Will….
PLEASE pray for my older sister, Dorothea. She has always given of herself to everyone else. She has worked at the Assemblies of God headquarters in MO for 41 years now – ever since she married her husband, Ken, in August of 1967, and he was attending college out there (they have three sons, and one of them is about to make her a grandmother for the first time – she is ecstatic!).
Dorothea was recently diagnosed with a cyst on her ovary, and doctors want to do a hysterectomy. I know that the Lord can heal it. He said that we have not because we ask not, and we should ask so that our joy could be full. He is faithful to His promises, and He said that He would fill us with joy if we bring our requests to Him.
I am believing the Lord for a miracle, and i will not stop asking and believing until the miracle happens. I will persevere in prayer, as the Bible says to pray without ceasing, and in the Amplified Bible it adds in parentheses, to pray “perseveringly.” Praise God for all of the answered prayer in our lives. He will continue to answer our prayers as we read His Word, believe His promises to us, bring our requests to Him, and wait expectantly for the answer!
Thot you’d like to be kept up-to-date on how Sharlene in KY is doing (my niece). Still believing the Lord for TOTAL healing! God is good!
Love in Jesus,
Kathi
Well, you all haven’t heard from me in a little while. There hasn’t been much to report….until now. Last Friday I went to my regular doctor and he:
1) told me to quit taking the medication for blood sugar
2) is taking me slowly off the blood pressure medicine
YAY!
I went to the infectious disease doctor today and he:
1) said that my blood work has been steadily improving over the past month and looks good.
2) because of this…and the fact that I’ve been on antibiotics since March, he said that he thought I could go off the antibiotics. He told me that if I get a fever or feel poorly or anything to let him know.
3) going off the antibiotics means….THEY TOOK THE IV PIC LINE OUT!!! YAY!!!
So, I once more have a right arm, don’t have to worry about waking up early in the morning to do an IV, and have very few pills that I have to take now!!! YAY!!!
4) I had the CT scan on Monday. There is still some inflammation but it is looking better.
So, all good news right now! I hope that it continues and I don’t get anymore infections!! I’m still on the wound vac, but the wound is getting smaller & smaller (all but one part of it…my regular home health nurse is going to have the ostomy nurse look at it when she comes this week to help with some other issues that I’m having.)
My dad and I are going to a hockey game in Cincinnati tomorrow night. We’ll see how that goes….2 hours of driving plus all the stairs that I’m going to have to walk down (yes, we have seats in the 4th row) and all the stairs that I’m going to have to climb! I’d say that I’ll sleep well tomorrow night!!!
Thank you for all of your prayers! Hopefully soon I’ll be back to my old self! I’m getting there!!!
Sharlene
A sister at church asked me if I would be willing to accept some food from her – she said the Lord had laid it on her heart all week to give me food. I had asked the Lord for food – I felt that He said to me, “You have not because you ask not, now ask that your joy may be full.” This gift of food was a DIRECT answer to prayer.
I sensed that the Lord answered this prayer quickly in order to encourage me to keep trusting Him. He will provide everything else that I had brought to Him in prayer, financial needs that could affect the survival of our family.
God is not slack concerning His promises to us. He is faithful – even the times when WE are unfaithful, HE remains faithful to US, His children. Amen!
I had two wonderful opportunities to minister in the past month.
1.) About one month ago, I was blessed to lead a young man to the Lord in Barranquila, Colombia – His name is Dairo.
This was possible because a young woman in our church had brought salvation scripts that she had received from another ministry. The pastors approved the scripts, and they were placed in the church for our use.
I used this script to lead Dairo to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. When our call was almost done (he had been helping me with my cellular phone service), he actually said, “Now I am born again,” and I KNEW that he understood the step he had taken. Praise God! PLEASE pray for Dairo, that he will find Christian fellowship, and that he will begin to grow in his new-found faith in Jesus Christ.
2.) A young woman at work had both feet injured and a toe broken by her brother’s dog, when he wrapped his chain leash around her legs. Both feet are badly swollen, and she has to wear flip-flops, even to work.
As she was getting up for a break, I whispered for her to come over to my cubicle for a second. I quietly asked her if she would like me to pray that her feet heal quickly. She said yes, and I prayed for healing, also using the Word of God in my prayer, which ALWAYS inspires faith in the hearer (and the Lord ALSO said His word would NOT return void, but it WOULD accomplish what it was sent out to do).
I am not saying that we have SEEN a healing, but it was an opportunity for the Lord to SHINE upon this young lady, even in her workplace. The Lord has begun a work in her, and He WILL do it! He will not stop until she has come to rest in Him. PRAISE GOD!
Last week, on June 8, Pastor Laura talked about having a “God is real” moment. Well that day, I prayed the hardest I’ve prayed in years, for my family and friends to be blessed, that God would lead the way in their hardships, & lastly for me, and my unsure beliefs in God ever since my mother died. I only prayed briefly for myself, but my prayers were mainly for a friend’s brother. I have gotten very close to this friend in just the last few weeks, and we have bonded in a way I have not bonded with anyone in years. Her brother is having problems with the law, as well in addictions. I asked God to show him that his social environment was not helping him, that he would get in more trouble, and that he would find a safe haven, hopefully in You. Well, he got a new sponsor – a very Christian addict, I believe he is even a pastor of some sorts. When I heard that, I had my “God is real” moment. MY prayer, if even only slightly, was answered. That is all I needed to reassure me of God’s presence in my life, and that he does hear my prayers… thank you Laura for helping me in so many ways in the 3 weeks I have gone to your church. I just ask that people pray for me and that my relationship with God gets stronger each & every day.
Amy,
I will pray for you! i am SO glad that you have come to New Birth, and I pray that we become the family in Christ to you that New Birth has become to my daughter and me (we knew we were “home” when we visited for the first time almost two years ago).
Love in Jesus,
Kathi
Amy, what a blessing to have you part of our church family. I pray that God will continue to draw you closer to Him! You are a gift from God! Pastor Laura
An update on my niece Sharlene in KY, via her email to me….
Hello everyone!
It’s been a little while since I updated you on how I’m doing. The wound is healing up great…it will be VERY soon and I won’t need the wound vac anymore. Yay!! Some of you know that I’ve been having problems with my ostomy for a while. I started to have some serious problems last week. It wasn’t until yesterday that I was able to consult with an ostomy doctor that had worked with me in the hospital. She called my doctor (the surgeon) and wanted to get me in to see him because she felt that the problem needed to be fixed by surgery. My doctor was booked up through the end of the month, so she was able to get me an appointment with one of his partners for today. He took one look at me and wanted my doctor to see me. He was able to arrange to have him come back from the hospital and take a look. He agreed that I need surgery for a “Revision of Stoma.” (Which means that they are going to have to re-do the ostomy.) So, they scheduled me for surgery for next Wednesday. I have to be there at 10:30, but the procedure is at 12:30. The doctor decided that he’s going to “put me out” for it…since I’ve been through so much already. Apparently they often do local anesthesia. (The other doctor said that sometimes he even does the procedure in his office!) I’ll be having mine done at the hospital, though. I guess I’ll find out if it is outpatient or not on Wednesday. I’d appreciate your prayers! Thanks!
Sharlene
Sharlene made it through surgery…. Yesterday. She isn’t feeling well. PLEASE pray. Thanks!
Love in Jesus,
Kathi

I received this from Sharlene in KY – just want to keep you all updated! Thanks! Kathi (smile)
Jun 28, 2008 2:01 AM Thank you so much for your prayers and asking others to pray as well!!
I’m doing much better right now…the surgery was outpatient. I ended up having to have a little surgery on my wound as well…the Lord was in control of that!! I had just found that there was a problem with the wound from the original surgery on Tuesday. I was scheduled for the revision of my ostomy on Wednesday. Originally, my doctor had suggested that I could have the surgery last Friday (the 20th), but I already had some plans with some friends for Friday & Saturday and asked if we could do it this week. He didn’t have a problem with that…and it turned out to be providential that I had it on Wednesday. So, instead of having to come in for a 2nd surgery (or other complications from not taking care of the problem as quickly as we did), he was able to fix that and re-do my ostomy all at once. Praise the Lord!!! Love, Sharlene
please pray for me and michael that we can be used by God in a mighty way to touch people’s lives, and win souls for christ.
Sharlene & I went to Danville today to pick up a prescription from her doctor. We stopped to visit Bill who has come to visit New Birth a couple of times (we used to work together at ICT). Bill has had two incidents in the past two months and ended in the hospital both times – doctor unsure if were seizures or a low metabolism. Bill had left two messages to talk to me, so i was concerned. it turned out that he needed help with something else, but also reminded me to ask all of you to pray for Bill. He wil be having an MRI done the end of the month, so that doctors can see what is going on. He hasn’t been allowed to even drive his car for two months. PLEASE pray. Thanks!
Please pray for my older sister, Dorothea, who lives in MO. She just had a hysterectomy for a cyst on her ovary. Please pray that she heals quickly, and is able to get back to work quickly. She is a WONDERFUL sister to me, both as my earthly sister and my Christian sister. I thank the Lord for her life!
PRAISE REPORT! My brother Mark is back to work after all of his chemotherapy for leukemia. He is doing WELL! I was trusting the Lord, but still afraid because doctors kept saying it could be hiding somewhere in his body. The Lord let me hear Sister Marcia’s testimony from Living Waters Church in Hornell, NY – the Lord healed her of leukemia around 30 years ago. HOW encouraging! Praise God! Also, Mark had $300,000 in medical bills, but almost ALL of it has been forgiven! Glory to God!
Hi! I got this great news today from my niece, Sharlene, in KY! (smile!)
Hello everyone! I have some great news!!
The doctor took off the wound vac today & said that I don’t need it anymore!!! YAY! He also signed off so that I can start going back to work part time. I’m going in tomorrow afternoon.
Sharlene
On June 11th, 2008, I asked for prayer for a young lady at work. The Lord brought her into my life before she ever worked with me (in fact, we met in 2001 because I worked with her mother).
Well, today she asked me to pray for her. She even asked if we could get together and talk, because, as she said, “you are a Christian, you understand me, and you won’t give me the answers that a psychologist or therapist would give me, you are real.” Praise God! PLEASE pray! Thanks….
Lord, I pray for Melanie and her family. She wrote here and asked for prayer on June 28th. Reward her faith in You with RESULTS, Lord. I pray that she is seeing the members of her household reaching out to you, Lord. May each one of them come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Amen.
PLEASE don”t forget to PRAY! I get together with the young lady from work in just TWO days. Pray that the Lord will prepare her heart, and that I will be sensitive to His leading. I will OPEN my mouth – LORD PLEASE FILL IT! THANKS (smile)!
This is a testimony, but maybe not the typical testimony. A good man and mentor reminded me that sometimes we are on top of the mountain and there are times we must travel through the valley. I thank the Lord for those valleys. Thats right, the valleys must be appreciated. Although they are tough seasons to get through, it is in those tough times of suffering that we learn the most. Pastor Laura mentioned in the sermon this past Sunday that as a new believer we usually have a honeymoon period with God. A time where everything seems to go our way, and then the honeymoon is over. I believe that this is what has happened in my young walk with Christ. The honeymoon is over, and he is asking me to grow up, and he’s showing me what I need to see to be able to do that. So, although I’ve been buffeted in some areas of my life recently, I must still Praise Him! If I stay the course, he will show me His Glory. He has done it before and he will again, because He Is Faithful! I also ask for prayer for those people in the Gulf Coast that are in the path of yet another storm. Just remember that in Christ we have victory over death and destruction. Thanks.
According to Christian Post:
Hindu extremists, some wielding machetes, have been on the rampage in the north-eastern state since the murder of Hindu leader Swami Lakshmananda Saraswati and four of his associates last month. Christian homes, orphanages and churches have been burned down, while 16 people have been killed.
In one of the worst incidents, a young woman was burned alive when she tried to protect children from an attack on their Christian orphanage.Christian leaders have appealed to the Indian Government to bring the perpetrators of the violence to justice and protect Christians in Orissa from further attacks. Persecution watchdog Barnabas Fund said the government’s response appeared to be “patchy at best,” with curfews only partially enforced. While additional protection has been provided in the towns, this has not been the case in rural areas, the group said.
Rightsgroups estimate that around 16,000 Christians have fled the area, with many seeking shelter in makeshift government refugee camps. According to Reuters news agency, one temporary camp in Raikia village has 8,000 people crammed into two floors of a government office, where they are sleeping on the bare floor and surviving on a rice and lentil meal given twice daily.

PLEASE pray. I started a support group at MSN for parents who have been victims of child abuse litigation (whether guilty or innocent, child welfare agencies go overboard in punishing them, instead of helping them, which was the first reason these agencies were formed).
Pray that people will post comments that will be helpful to these parents, and also that parents will share their pain. Jesus is the answer. He can help heal their pain. Also, changes need to be made in the entire system. Pray that the Lord will make a way for me to be used to see change.
Thank you!

Hi Everyone,
Just a reminder to please remember to pray hard for Randy’s Daughter Sharlene Stebbins. As you know, She has suffered patiently for a long time now, and has not complained about her illness. She seems to just “take it in stride.” She has gone back to work, though most people in her condition would be in bed. Randy says She has a fever again, and will be back at the Doctor’s on Monday. Well, we need some help from the Father of all Doctors, our Father in Heaven. I am stating to you all, my belief that God will hear our prayers, and renewed effort on Sharlene’s behalf. He will certainly deliver her from all of her trouble. Remember the King that feared neither God or Man, but granted the wish of the poor widow, ” lest she wear me out with her coming.” Thank you all for your prayers. Love always, Mark
Dear Ones, I received this email from my brother, Mark, in NJ, the very one the Lord has helped to survive Leukemia. I am SO encouraged by his strong faith. PLEASE continue to pray for my precious niece, Sharlene. Thank you, bless you, praise the Lord. Love in Jesus, Kathi

Perhaps Hepatitis B or C from a blood transfusion several years ago. His condition is such that he has to take trips to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. I promised Michelle we would pray (they have two daughters age 13 and 7). Thanks! Kathi
My friend Bill from Danville has visited our church a couple of times. We used to work together at ICT 2001-2003. PLEASE pray for him (I have shared this before, if you scroll up)….

Subject: Thank You for Your Prayers!

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for your prayers. I got the results from last Mondays CBC blood test and the counts ARE a little better. My red cells, Hemoglobin, and MCHC inched back into the normal range. My platelets are low and a couple others are still out of the norm.
I am encouraged by this, as I had prayed with the Pastor here the day before. I will be getting another test this Monday. Perhaps I will show more improvement, now that you are all praying for me.
I had a genetic test back on 11/20 and the results were borderline. Irregular cells were at 4% , and they should be at 2% or less. I will be having another of those soon, but won’t have the results for several weeks.
I want to remind everyone to continue to keep Sharlene Stebbins in your prayers. She has been “toughing it out” in regard to her illness. I want here to be FREE, as I know you do too.
I know that some of you need prayer too, so let us continue to pray for one another.
God IS able, and will deliver us from all of our trouble.
Again, thank you all for remembering me, and please continue to pray for me
in regard to this illness.
Love always,
Mark
Please pray for me I need alot of encouragement to obey God and treat my mom nice.

I need prayer not to look at bad stuff on the computer.I feel convicted by God because I stopped for a while and all the sudden started again.I am struggling alot at this time. Please pray
Please pray that this year will be better than last year for me and my husband Michael. Michael and i have gone through so much in 2008, and we want this year to be better for us. Continue to keep praying for our marrage, our mental and physical health, for more friends so we can get out more and feel loved, for our finances to increase so we can be debt free and also to get to church more and be used for God. Thanks! Love you all!
My brother Mark just sent this email to me. He went to the hospital today, and I am waiting to hear. PLEASE keep praying – thanks! Love in Jesus, Kathi
Hi again Everyone,
Thank you for your continuing prayers. Please remember Sharlene Stebbins as well. Randy said She was doing better, but I haven’t heard anything recent. I spoke with Randy, but I don’t want to speak for him here.
My blood test results have been up and down. Results from 2 weeks ago were pretty bad with actual “Blast Cells” showing up in my blood. These are worthless immature cells that were released by my marrow too soon. In a nutshell, that is what happens with this disease, until they are ALL useless. I just got results from last Saturday, and they are a little better.
Tomorrow I will be going up to the Hackensack Cancer Center for a bone marrow aspiration or biopsy. Fun stuff. I will let you know what happens when I get some more results or answers.
Thank you again for your prayers. God IS able.
Love always, Mark
Please pray for Sharlene, Jimmy, & me as we all continue to grow in the Lord. God has GREAT things for the three of us – I trust Him in this. Some things take SO much patience to wait for them, but God Is faithful. He said that He knows His thoughts toward us, thoughts of good, not evil, to bring us to an EXPECTED end. Amen!
Loving you in Jesus, Kathi
P.S. Keep praying for Pastor Laura & John, Pastors John & Jane, all members of ministry classes 1st & 3rd years, the Praise Team, and all the believers at New Birth Ministries INTERNATIONAL. The Lord WILL increase our ministry on EVERY side (Isaiah 54). We live in an extremely hurting world. People LONG for Jesus. They just don’t realize it until that “Lightbulb flashes!” in their hearts and minds!
Please pray for Bloomsburg Community Church to grow in God, for more people to be drawn there, and for faithful givers and tithers and also pray that the holy spirit will move mightely there for His glory. Thank you!
Can you keep me in your prayers? A friend’s ex boyfriend is causing me alot of grief. He called me up and screamed at me because I hang out with this friend too much and I go over without asking. I can’t take his nonsense anymore. I wish he was out of my life. Sorry to bother you. Please pray
Please pray for me and my wife. We just found out that our cat may have liver cancer. We couldn’t afford all the tests for an exact diagnosis. That brings up another serious situation. Our finances are in very dire condition. The vet bill was an unexpected expense in an already troubling winter lay-off period. I just got a 10 day shut-off notice from PP&L and I don’t even have the money to pay our rent…again. I am out of the usual options for help. Things have been bad before, but never like this. My faith is truely being tested and I am searching for answers from the Lord. I just ask all who see this for your prayers to help me and my wife and for the Lord to strengthen us so we can get through this difficult situation. Thank you.
Hello again Everyone,
I just got the results from my Bone Marrow Biopsy, and unfortunately the Leukemia is back.
I am going up to Hackensack on Thursday afternoon to meet with the Bone Marrow Transplant People. They would like to test all of you. I don’t know how you all feel about it. Please let me know. If you don’t want to do it I will understand.
I will be starting Chemo again next week. I don’t know what day yet. My doctor says it will be a 30 day stay like the first one I had last time.
Please continue to pray.
Love always,
Mark
I feel like you all know Mark now. He is SO special to me. I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters, but my “twin” Mark was born on my birthday, 3 yrs 6-1/2 hrs after me! We shared EVERY birthday and birthday cake that I ever remember, growing up. It is SO hard to watch him going through this, but we serve a GREAT God, who also loves us and answers our prayers!
Love in Jesus, Kathi
Hello again everyone,
I went up to Hackensack Thursday 2/5/09 and met with the transplant people as well as my Oncologists Nurse. Results from my marrow biopsy show 2 problems with my marrow chromosomes. Inversion #16 and fragmented #7. Those are the rungs on the twisted ladder of the chromosome structure. Last time it was only with #16. Any way that cinches the recommendation for stem cell transplant.
I gave the Doctors your names, addresses, phone numbers, D.O.B.s, and they will be contacting you. They have applied to my insurance company to cover the transplant. Pray for God’s will in this and everything else. I think you should be hearing from them and / or receiving a donor kit in the mail within the next 2 to 3 weeks. That is just a swab for inside of your cheek I believe.
The odds of you matching are about 30 %. If one of you is chosen, you would be asked to come for more testing, i.e. physical, blood tests, etc. Nothing too bad. If that went well, you would be given a drug called “Nupogen”. This drug causes your marrow to overproduce stem cells. It can also cause moderate to severe bone pain. I had the drug with no problems, but the Doctor said it was because my marrow was not already producing normally.
They will be sampling your blood, and when the time is right, connect you to a machine that will filter the stem cells out of your blood, and then return your blood to you. I am not sure how long that will take. The
transplant Doctor said to figure about 3 weeks for the donor to complete everything. During that time I will
be having chemo to completely kill my stem cells, and prepare to receive donor stem cells. After they have
harvested your stem cells they will inject them into a port they will be putting in my chest. The stem cells
will then find their way into by marrow cavity (s) and begin producing blood cells.
I will be entering the Hospital this coming week to get my Leukemia back into remission. This has to be done before any of the above can proceed. I will be getting a more intense chemo this time and will be in
for about 30 days.
There are so many things that can go wrong, that it will take the grace of God for things to work out.
Thank you for doing this. You are all special to do this for the Guy who is going to “cut up on you” the
first chance he gets. Ha!
Thank you again for all of your prayers.
Love always,
Mark
Hi, could you please pray for me. I am in urgent need of sponsors to continue this journey as a missionary. The money i had saved up God has asked me to give away to those more in need than i at this point. I trust God that he will meet my needs. i need prayer for favour in peoples eyes as they learn about this journey and open their pockets to support a full time missionary. Please pray that i will find sponsor and trust in God with all that i have. AMEN!

Please pray for me because I have been bleeding for a long time. I went for a pap smear Feb. 2 and It showed that i had a yeast infection, but everything else was fine, praise God! I then had to get a blood test done this past tuesday. I’m believing it’s all going to work out fine because God is so faithful, but i have to admit i do get fearful over this situation at times. I want so bad for this bleeding to stop. I have to trust in God that He will work it all out. Thanks for praying for me. Try If you can to pray in the spirit for me and I’ll keep doing the same for all of you. I love you all so much!!!
I hope you don’t mind me sharing all of this with you, but i want to include you, my spiritual family in our journey toward Mark’s healing. Thank you for understanding! Love, Kathi
2/13/09 Hello again, I spoke with the woman from the transplant team, and she said that the test kits were mailed yesterday. You should have them soon. I am still home and waiting for a call to go into the hospital.
LA Mark
2/19/09 Hi again. I just wanted to drop you a note because many of you have asked about my medical condition, and most or all of you have been praying for me. My leukemia is back again, and I am out of remission. I am scheduled to be admitted to Hackensack University Medical Center on Monday, February 23rd. That is unless I run a fever or something before, then I would go sooner. The plan is to have more Chemo and stay about 30 days, if all goes well. Then I would come home briefly (I hope), and go back for a stem cell (bone marrow) transplant, if a donor is ready. Treatmnt after that would depend on outcome. I am sure God has a reason for all of this, and he IS able. Maybe I can be of some help to someone there. I will have my cell phone with me, and you can reach me at 609-204-2939. Thank you to those who have prayed for my niece Sharlene Stebbins. Please continue to pray for her. Love always Mark
Sunday 2/22/09 Hi again Dorothea, Randy, Kathy, & Kristie, I believe I may have found my “mustard seed”. I was praying today, and just got this feeling of relief. Spiritually speaking. Then I went to church and a couple of people laid hands on me. Also a man asked for and received the Holy Spirit at the service. I do NOT want to speak out of turn here, but I think something is happening. Love always, Mark Check out this website that the Pastor’s wife sent:
http://www.rhchurch.org/pages/cardboard-testimonies/
Please pray for me.I am becoming very temped to look at bad websites.I admit that I have looked at some. But I just can’t take it anymore.I lo-ve God so much and I don’t want to hurt him anymore.Plus my mom and I are fighting. And my Uncle is very sick.
Please pray for my walk with God.I am struggling with anger issues.
Well,
Today I was talking to my boyfriend at school and I asked him if he wanted to pray with me so he could be Christian. And he said yes.So he prayed to accept Jesus into his heart at school!!!!!!!!
Please pray for me for my arms.I have been getting pain in my upper left arm sisnce either yesterday or 2 days ago.Love you guys
Please pray for First Baptist Church of Maryville, ILL. Pray for the family of the slain pastor and their church congregation. Pray also for the troubled man that shot and killed Pastor Winters.
These are scary times. The financial situation DOESN’T look good. TV news reports talk of allowing large banks to fail, instead of saving them. The newspaper reported that things will only worsen after the war ends. In the Reagan recession, when asked if it could end in a depression, the answer was “No!” We don’t get that same response with this new financial crisis.
We need to trust God to provide for our familes. We are NOT dependent on our jobs or the economy – GOD is our provider. In Matthew 6, Jesus told us not to worry about what we will wear or what we will eat. He said the lilies of the field don’t do ANY work, but Solomon, in his splendor was not as beautiful. Matthew 6:33 says to seek first His Kingdom and Righteousness, and ALL these things will be added unto us. God PROMISED, and He ALWAYS keeps His promises! Stay encouraged – I AM!
Love yas,
Kathi
Please pray for my friend Laura. She is 3 months pregnant and I just keep praying for her so that she doesn’t have a mis cariage I really care about her and don’t want to see her defvistated. Please pray.Love yall
Please add a wonderful friend of our family to the church prayer list. Her name is Sheila N. and she is from Texas with a heart as big as the lone star state. She has recently suffered a stroke and she needs your prayer. A healing of her body is needed as well as her broken relationship with Jesus. We are very concerned for her right now and so I acknowledge now before my Lord that I need your devine help.
Please pray for a celebrity named Jade Goody she has cancer and she is very close to death and I’m not sure if she’s Christian.
Please continue to pray that God will bring revival to Bloomsburg and the churches will be filled up. Pray for the revival that’s going on right now at the Susquhanna Revival church that God will draw more people there by His Holy Spirit. It is going to continue intill monday evening, and if God wills, longer, It depends how hungry and thirsty people are for God’s presence. It says in Matt. 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,For they shall be filled. Pray that Miracles will occur and that God will draw in the lost. For those interested in experincing God’s presence and a filling up it will be tonight at 7:OO through monday at 7:00PM they had it yesterday and Michael and I went and it was powerful and The Glory showed up.
I wanted to share the last email that I received from my brother, Mark. I am encouraged, because the chemo got him into remission with the first dose (though it was much more intensive and a longer period of dosing than his first dose early August 2007). I was trusting the Lord that the chemo would get him into remission (the Lord DOES use great doctors, at times, in our healing process). Thanks for your prayers for my baby brother, Mark! Love! Kathi
Back Home Again Sunday, March 22, 2009 9:36AM
Hi Everyone I wanted to let you all know that I got out of Hackensack Hospital Friday afternoon. They have managed through Chemo to get my Leukemia back into remission. Praise be to God who strengthens me.
I expect to be going back and forth to Hackensack in preparation for my transplant for the next 3 to 4 weeks. They say they have a 10 / 10 donor match for me, which is classified as perfect, having matched 10 out of 10 criteria. I believe they are in the process of contacting the donor for harvesting of stem cells. Then I will go back for more Chemo and the Transplant. So I have a way to go, and perhaps the hardest lies ahead, only God knows. Thank you so much for your continued prayers, God IS able. LA Mark
Remember Terri Schiavo today, March 31st, 2009. It was four years ago today that Terri’s life was brutally ended by her husband, supporters of euthanasia, and the medical personnel in the hospice where she lived and died. I knew when abortion was legalized by the in the Roe vs Wade case in the 70s that euthanasia was close behind. Also, I knew eventually death would be forced on people without their choice, not even by a family member, but by medical personnel appealing to the courts. Several years ago doctors overstepped parental rights in England, and “pulled the plug” on their infant girl. We need to stand up and be counted as Christians who believe in the sanctity of human life, the life that ONLY GOD can create.
P.S. There will be a memorial for Terri Schiavo every March 31st. Also, there are ways that YOU can participate in protecting human life. Go to http://www.terrisday.org to find out how….
Please keep my mom in prayer because she is very stressed.I realize how much trouble I am to her and that I need to treat her better. And please pray for me to be nice and do holy things and to care more about what God says.
Thank you for praying for my brother, Mark. I wanted to share his latest email with you, to aid you as you continue praying for him. Thanks again, and God bless! Love in Jesus, Kathi
Hello again. I wanted to let you all know that I will be going back to Hackensack Hospital on Friday, May 1st. Hey, isn’t that May Day? Oh Boy. Anyway I am going back for more chemo first, and then on about May 8th or 9th, the bone marrow transplant. The Hospital stay will probably be for 1 month, followed
by a close outpatient program of 1 to 3 months, depending on my condition. They want me to stay
close by the hospital for at least the first month, so I will be up there somewhere. God has helped me through everything, and I believe he will deliver me from all of my trouble. Thank you all so much for your prayers. May God Bless You All LA Mark
Please continue to pray for Sharlene and I, as we both grow in the Lord. The enemy does NOT want us to be successful in our lives, and He tries to shoot us down at every turn. Thank the Lord for the comfort and power in His word. Romans 8:36-37 New King James 36 As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”[a] 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Thanks for your prayers. Love in Jesus, Kathi
My brother Mark is having his bone marrow transplant today. PLEASE PLEASE pray that his body accepts it, and does NOT reject it. Thank you, and God bless!
Love you all,
Kathi
Please pray for me because i’m not doing good at all. I feel lonely, aggitated, depressed at times and also panicky. Pray for me that i can feel loved by people. Pray that i can talk calm and feel calm. Pray for me that i can get back to church. I love God with all of my heart, i really do, but I’m grieving Him so much right now. I Know He still loves me because i can feel His anointing all over me. I just want my life to get better. I’m crying out for help, I’m crying out for a friend, i’m crying out to be used and more then anything i’m crying out to be free. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your continued prayers. God Is Good All The Time!
I just wanted to thank everyone for your prayers for Romona. Her surgery went very well and I know the prayers really helped. God is so good and we are so blessed. Please pray for the ministers that will receive licenses this evening from New Birth. May God bless them and use them in mighty ways.
Continue to pray for the Bloomsburg Community Church because they are starting a new service sunday evenings and they are hoping to draw a crowd. Pray that God will bless them financally. Pray also for my dad because he supposed to give a word on healing the last sunday of the month.
Please pray for my cousin John Stebbins, Sr. He is in his early 50′s, and till now has been VERY healthy. He has a rare condition where his spinal fluid is leaking. He has had to undergo a number of surgeries, and all of this is very painful. He has been very brave through all of it, and totally trusting the Lord, but I can see it taking a toll. His physical mobility is at risk, as well as his life. Thanks for your prayers….
I have recently had to limit Sharlene’s freedom. At age 17, of course she would be resistant to this, but I have been successful, so far. Please pray that I can continue to help her and guide her spiritually. Someday she will fully understand the whys and she will be appreciative. God is good.
I just wanted to say how much I love everyone at New Birth. You are our family. I love you ALL….
I wanted to share these emails from my two sisters. Mark REALLY needs the Lord’s strength to hang in there. PLEASE keep praying – THANKS! and the Lord bless!
RE: Prayer Request For Mark Stebbins (White Cell and Blood Levels are Still Low)Thursday, June 25, 2009 10:49 AM From Kristie Morris … more Oh man…the poor guy. I can’t even imagine what he’s going through. But…we won’t be moved by what we see but who we know. So we will just keep standing in faith for Mark praying, and believing that God is in control and working all things together for his good!

From: Lotter, Dorothea Sent: Wednesday, June 24, 2009 4:58 PM Subject: Prayer Request Please continue to pray for my brother, Mark. He had a successful bone marrow transplant to fight leukemia several months ago. Doctors are now concerned that his white cell count and blood levels are not coming up to healthy levels. Last night they began tests to see if he has contracted a disease that strikes about 50%of transplant recipients. The drugs they are trying are creating significant stomach problems. He would really appreciate your prayers that this be resolved.
Answers to Prayers Monday June 29, 2009 11:35 AM
Hello There, I just wanted to list for you some specific answers to your prayers. From around June 12th I have asked many of you to pray about my blood counts,
specifically, platelets. Here is what happened.
June 15th: Platelets up from 11, 000 to 45,000.
June19th: Platelets up from 45,000 to 64,000.
June 23rd: Platelets up from 64,000 to 97,000.
At this point I asked some of you to pray about my other blood cells. Here is what happened.
June 26th: Platelets up from 97,000 to 107,000.
White blood cells up from 2,300 to 3,700. Red cells up from 2,210 to 2,460. Hemoglobin up from 8.3 gm/dl to 9.2 gm/dl.
So as you can see, though I have a way to go, God is answering your prayers, and I am slowly getting stronger. Thank you for your continuing prayers for me, God is able. Please remember my niece Sharlene Stebbins in prayer, as She has been in a battle of her own for a long time, and has been trusting in the Lord to heal her. Thank you, and may the Peace of the Lord rest upon you.
Mark
Keep praying for me everybody so i can make it back to church and that my bleeding will stop, Thanks! Love ya!
I’d like to request that everyone keep Pastor Laura and her family in their prayers. She is a wonderful person that God led out of a trying childhood. I miss her and I Love her and she is always in mine as I am certain I am in hers. (her baby brother)
Lord Jesus glory and praise to you,we are asking dear
Lord Jesus to bless us with money for our wedding, please Lord Jesus only your will to be done for our wedding thank you.
Lord, please bless our family at New Birth and those outside our body, as well. Give strength, physical and spiritual healing, great health, and spiritual growth to each of us. Those who are troubled by ANYTHING, PLEASE give them Your Peace, which is AMAZING! Thank you Lord for EVERYTHING.
Thanks to your prayers, Mark is cancer-free. It HAD to be the Lord, as his blood counts were not going up after the bone marrow transplant until everyone prayed.
Today a brother shared on the Focus on the Family radio program. He had a bone marrow transplant 8 years ago, and has been cancer-free ever since. His oncologist recently came to his house for dinner, and said that he is “cured (once you’ve had cancer, doctors NEVER say you are cured, since it can return).” I was encouraged
Hello again Gang, I am sending you this to ask again for your prayers (not that you have stopped). Last Thursday’s blood tests showed some abnormal cells. My Doctor’s don’t know what they are, so they want to do another bone marrow biopsy next Thursday, October 22nd. I believe this will be my 8th, I’m not sure. My last biopsy was on Aug 3rd, and it was clear. At this point there are just some abnormalities that could be a lot of things, but the Doctor’s and I want to rule out any return of cancerous cells. I don’t believe that God has brought me this far for me to fail now. Thank You Father! Thank You Jesus! Please remember me on the 22nd. God IS able, Love always, Mark PS — I know that many of you are hurting and have your own problems. You are in my prayers, and this season too will pass for God’s Children.
Thank you Lord, for ALL of your help in the many responsibilities I handle as a widow with children. You are SO faithful. Thank you for helping me to do my studies in ministry, with all the craziness around me at times. Thank you for loving my children even MORE than I do. I know that you will bless them with a GREAT life in YOU – I know you will continue to fulfill your promise given to me when they were tiny (Isaiah 54:13). God IS good!
A friend of mine on facebook shared this prayer request. PLEASE pray!
IMMEDIATE PRAYER REQUEST
To members of Prayers for Niki
Gayle Reid Moore October 25 at 5:27pm
Asking for IMMEDIATE prayer for a friend who is being taken in to deliver 15 week premature triplets due to complications.
Thank you Lord for reminding me again that YOU are in control…. When I went to the elevators right by Sharlene’s ward in the hospital after her admission, I had a ‘deja vu” moment. I recognized the hall past the elevators – this was the hall I “paced” for two days to bring on her birth almost 18 years ago. It was like coming “full circle,” back to her place of birth. It was YOUR gentle reminder to ME that You ARE in control, and that I should continue to rest in you, as I always have…. You have confirmed to me that my children will be safe in you (Isaiah 54:13 All thy children shall be taught of the Lord, and great shall be the peace of thy children.) We should not allow sudden fear to come upon us as believers in Jesus Christ, we should continue to trust the ONE who loved us and gave Himself for us….
This was an email that my cousin Laurel sent from BanMeThout, Vietnam, where she and other members of my family returned to the village where my aunt, uncle, and four other missionaries were martyred the first day of the Tet Offensive January 30th, 1968. Back in 1968, when her school house-parents woke Laurel up to tell her the news, she told THEM that her parents had been killed by the Viet Cong (she had just dreamt about it! The Lord had prepared her for this hard news). It is wonderful that my cousins were finally able to visit their parent’s gravesite. My Uncle Tom went with them, as a support, as he is also a retired missionary to Vietnam, and their mother was his sister. I pray that you are as blessed by her message as I was. When my grandparents went to Vietnam in 1918, there were NO born-again Christians in the country. Now, just in the little village where her parents ministered last, there is a body of 2,000 believers! Wow! God bless…. Love in Jesus, Kathi
My brothers just walked out the door to go down to the pool and discuss the days’ events away from listening ears and “bugs” in the room. Wow! There is so much going on. I come to the room for half an hour and write everything down and off we go again for another event. We are truly being ambassadors and God is using us mightily. It’s very humbling and awesome! I’ll talk about those things when I get home. Let’s just say everything that we hoped for is happening and more! Today I sat in a church service and cried as 2,000 christians sang praises to God LOUDLY! I heard THE SOUND! I heard the angels… Then the children’s choir sang, then the women’s choir, then the men’s choir, then the young people’s choir…all giving God the praise for His goodness and mercy. Then they took the offering and the 8 boxes were stuffed…these are a people that have no material goods, have been persecuted terribly up until very recently and have only praise and thanksgiving to our God. Then we sang…all seven of us while Tom played the guitar. David gave His testimony and preached a powerful Gospel message. They gave us gifts and cried as they prayed for us, thanking us for the gift our parents had given them – their lives. We walked over to the new huge church building the government is letting them build, took pictures, and then laid hands on them and prayed for them. Then we FEASTED!!! The trip there and back was like a time travel to my childhood…the “road” that wasn’t…there are so many other things to share but I wanted to describe just about Sunday morning on the Lord’s day because it has been such a powerful time…one of the most memorable mornings of my life. We covet your prayers…we can feel the power of God over the miles…we are seeing the fruit…thank you. Tomorrow morning we are going to the property where Becki’s father was taken prisoner in 1962 and never returned. Her mother remained here in Banmethout and was a faithful missionary for years. They are so thrilled to have Becki (my brother David’s wife) and her daughter Rachel (fourth generation missionary to Cambodia) here and have honored her in many ways. Then we will be on our way to Dalat, a four hour drive (we think, some say four, some say six – time is a very iffy thing here). I will write again in Dalat and let you know how we are doing. We have many important things to do there also. God is doing a healing work in us as well…like a surprising side benefit to being available to be used by Him. I love you all; thank you for all your great comments and support on fb – love it! Love, Laurel
I wanted to share this news about my niece Sharlene, who lives in Kentucky. My brother called and told me that the annual iv treatment for Crohn’s is no longer helping her. Doctors have said if the situation with her intestines do NOT improve, she is looking at a radican colostomy (meaning that she will have to wear a bag for the rest of her life, or worse, and she will only be 35 years old in February). PLEASE pray.
Please pray for me and for my all of my friends that I can help them to come to know God.And please pray for me so God can help me to fight this depression and negative thoughts.
Thank you to everyone who has prayed for my brother Mark, and his progress toward the healing of Leukemia. No matter what happens, the Lord’s Perfect Will is going to be done in Mark’s life.
Mark has been back in the hospital for a few weeks now. He is doing better, thank the Lord. His oncologist said doing nothing would mean he would only last a few months, at best. If the leukemia returns after the treatment, there is only one more chance for him, in the natural, to prolong his life (the strongest treatment they have, strong chemo and another bone marrow transplant, much more extensive and painful than the last).
Through ALL of this, Mark has been an inspiration to ALL of us in his family, his friends, and members of the Body of Christ. His trust is fully in God, no matter what. He knows where his strength comes from, and he is at Peace with God.
Like King David with the little baby that he lost, I won’t stop asking the Lord until there is no human hope left. God changed His mind and didn’t destroy the Israelites when Moses interceded on their behalf. I am asking the Lord to spare my brother’s life, and give him back to us in good health.
I greatly appreciate ALL of your prayers on his behalf.
we pray for Hailee Cook she will be fine and healed. No matter what Jesus is there for her

We are praying for Seth and for your family! Please keep in touch! Love and miss you all! Pastor Laura
